Water mystery
This is the first time Ive actually driven my 82 CD in significant rain. Ive noted a bit of water under the door, I guess seeping past the door seals.
On the driver's side, I noted a tiny bit right by the front bolt holding the seat track down. The carpet is just barely damp but no water on the floor or deep into the carpet. On the passenger's side it gets wierd. I have a carpet on top of the floormat, and there is a tiny bit of water coming in right near the front of the door at the bottom. The vertical carpet is the only thing that is damp, no wetness underneath or anything... But on top of the carpet on top of my mat, I have a map sitting on the carpet. The underside of the map is bone dry, as is the carpet that it is sitting on (all around) and the mat underneath. However, the map was damp on top! Directly above is the underside of the dash, right in the center of the glovebox. I didnt check, but I believe the contents of the glovebox is dry. The underside of the dash is dry, no signs of dampness anywhere but those two small areas of vertical carpet on each side. No other signs of water in the car. Insides of the rubber seals for the windshields are dry. No drips into trunk indicating water ingress through rear windshield lower corners. Any ideas??? The car has been washed, sat in heavy rain, etc., and Ive never really noted anything. This is the first time. Obviously Ill be replacing the door seals, but any ideas about the wet map? Thanks!

I think the a/c coil is there, check the drain line. also, there is a battery above that area under the hood, I'd pull it, and verify there is not any rust under it. also, clean out the spring pockets, and the drain holes! you should pull the battery, and the tray it sits on, and clean the drain holes, and verify there is not any rust... take pics and post them here! we love gory details...

I know the pockets and all drains are clear, as I just checked them all the other weekend. All clean and solid metal. Non-rusty battery tray too...
