2b valve question

Where is this valve? Can it be rebuilt with the trans. still in the car?

I think it's the piston (B2) that controls first gear. Sticky B2 might cause transmission to hesitate before engaging low gear, or eventually not engage at all. Can be replaced with transmission still in car (or so I've read). Several articles in the archives.
