Glow plug light went off
Hi
My car is 1985 300D Turbo. Recently, the glow plug light went off on the dash board. However, I do not have difficulty in starting the car in the morning. I checked all the glow plugs using an ohm-meter measuring each plug wire from the glow plug connector with reference to the battery ground. Each one indicates about 0.3 ohm. What could be the problem? The light bulb itself or one (or two) of the glow plugs? Thank you, Steve |

Diesel Giant has a tutorial on the glow system. Test glow relay, wiring & plugs. Note caveat re handling hot plugs. I'd use the ohm meter & only pull the plugs if something else doesn't show as obviously wrong. Mine has always been a bad plug when the light wouldn't light.

I had plugs that passed the resistance test, but that was all they passed. It take 2 or more GP's to be not working for the GP light to stay off on the OM617.
If all your GP's pass, then check the light bulb in the dash.
