W124 lights

Ok, Factory ones suck... but I literally cant see at night... do I have some sort of alignment issue or what... the only way I can somewhat see is turning the Fog lights on... I know I want to get euro lights but I cant find them used and the ones on ebay....well, are tacky or just too expensive.. is there anything I can do?

Some photo's for comparison, Low beam and high and low and high plus Fog's

You can check that the lights are aimed properly. Park the car on flat ground away from a flat wall and point each fixture straight ahead. The lights should be aimed just below of straight ahead from the middle of the fixture.

there's nothing flat here... we're on a hill and the Driveway matches... I'll try to find a flat place though.

I've done it in like the side parking at a walgreens before. Could be crappy bulbs but I'd check the beams first.

www.danielsternlighting.com has a good article on headlight aiming and adjustment.

Save up for Euro lights, they'll be worth it. The US DOT lights are good enough for decent roads (with reflectors, and what not) but in the dark it's insufficient.

I aimed the lights on our 300TE a little bit higher, to give more light down the road, and use the fogs for decent foreground lighting.

I put the depo lights on my 87 Wagon. We are very happy with them. If you PM me your email, I can even send you my install pictures showing the wiring change. It took me about 2 hours with painting new filler panels. The lights were just under 200 shipped.
