Green round plastic thing on Trannie with hose

I took my 300SD on a 1700 mile trip and it ran really sweet.

Only problem is I used about one quart of trannie fluid. It has been dripping since I got it so I wasn't surprised at all. But I never saw where it was coming from. Pan gasket is tight and not leaking.

Today I saw it was not dripping from the pan but from above the pan. I think the source is somewhere around a Green Round thing on the drivers side that has a vacuum hose running to it. It must have a diaphram in it. I don't know what it is.

I had changed the Nuetral Safety Swith about 6 months ago but it leaked the same before I did this so I'm pretty sure it is not the NSS repair I did.

I also found the hose running to the Green Round thing OFF so I put it back on. Maybe that is why my downshifting was a bit irratic.

But the car ran like brand new.

Any advise about what I got going here would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Steve

Transmission vacuum modulator.

The round green thing is the transmission modulator, if it's leaking that mean the o-ring/seal is hard and should be replaced.

I need some help on how to remove this Modulator. What I see is a 14MM plug under it and an allen screw above the plug. Wondering if Phil has the seal. Anybody ever pull one?
