If it is your star's turn...

Then it is your star's turn. I have parked my diesel in the darkest seediest avenues of Sacramento, San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. I have left my car for days in the far tundra of long term airport parking lots, amidst drifting newsprint and Twinkie wrappers. I have even taken it to K-mart. Always I would return to find my car unscathed. Tonight, in the well lit parking lot of the Saint Helena Catholic Church, a tidy place of God in our over-chic little wine country heaven, within earshot of the Monsignor, my hood star was snipped. I protest! My 23 year old virgin has been de-flowered! Probably by a fellow Catholic! And I am out $13.58 plus shipping for a new one.

Thank you. I feel much better now.

Luke

I feel for you Luke!

Mine wasn't on the 300D when I bought it, but the one on the trunk was...I decided that since the car wasn't in very good shape to begin with, I REMOVED the one on the trunk lid BEFORE someone else did! It now has a home bolted to the end of my big tool chest! ( gotta be careful or the drawers wont open if mislocated!) Don't ask.

How many hail Mary's are in order for "liberating" a MB star anyway?

No Surrender Here..

In 24 years I've had my star yanked only once. But not for a moment would I consider surrender. Accepting the missing star and filling the hole with that drab cover is total capitulation! The star is our flag and like the stars and stripes were hoisted again at Baatan, so goes my star.

never happened to me

I've never had anything stolen from mine.....what I worry about the most is someone grabbing my nice stainless steel wheel covers that I use with snow tires on steel rims....very easy to take, fairly expensive to replace!!!
