HELP! Need oil pan for 606 - 95 E300D

Last night in a really bad downpour I ran up over a median curb, as the road swerved and I didn't. My fault, but I believe anyone would have made the same error on an unfamiliar road due to the heavy rain and standing water.

I was only going about 20 - 25, but my oil pan is trashed, a significant crack or cracks, I have not jacked it up and examined it closely. Luckily I was able to limp to a parking lot with good oil pressure and shut it down with no loss of oil pressure. Got it flatbedded to home.

So, I'm in the market for a new pan. I don't know if 96 or 97 non turbo 606 pans will fit, but I hope so, to broaden the possibilities.

This is such a bummer, I was less than 30 miles from home after a strong 250 mile run at 70 - 75+ the whole way, the car is running fanatastic. Or was...

According to my interchange it's exclusive to 1995, so something must have changed after 95.

According to my system dealer list is like $3xx.

There are four on car-part.com for sale, three in CA and one in FL. Don't know where you're located so don't know who's closest. That is unless you can find a forum member with one.

good luck

I am not sure if you are familiar with welding, but I have seen some of these oil pans welded. A friend of mine put a 617 motor into a dodge dakota. The oil pan would not fit,so he cut it and welded it back so that it would fit. If you cant weld it, maybe taking it to a welding shop might be worth it.

Any of you who aren't familiar you may try a bloke up in Conn who scrapes only 124 cars. He's very friendly and reasonable. He should have the pan you're looking for if welding doesn't do the trick. Contact name is David Hendy. You can reach him at dhendy3697@aol.com. He'll be away this weekend with his family but I believe he'll return before the week is up for sure. Something to put in your rolodex all you 124 bugs.
