How many have converted their cars?
I'm talking about going European, not veggie
Boy, it sure looks different from the original US look! I'm still getting used to it...

Huge fan of the euro bumpers, but I like the round headlights. Cibies are in my future...

When I had my 1979 W116 300SD I converted to Euro headlights and manual windows. Now I have a 1980 W116 300SD and will be converting it to 6.9 bumpers, Euro headlights, manual windows, manual sunroof,
manual heat, rear headrests, and front/rear heated seats.

Indeed. That's why I never liked the US W116 lights, the rounds work on the W123, they make it look like a happy little car... but not on the bigger S-Class.

have you added the euro rear fogs?

Patrick, looks good. But I think you need to drop it a bit. I do have to agree about the safety issue on the bumpers. Especially on a heirloom car like yours.

I have not added rear fogs, because I have the brake light mod setup on mine. I *might* do that in the future, Darren's great pictorial on how to proceed is helpful.
One of the fears I had when switching to the Euro bumpers was that issue on vehicle contact. I did save the original US bumpers (all parts) in case I change my mind... I'm surprised the car was VERY clean underneath all the rubber. Only needed some cleaning. One thing I realized is that the chrome on the bumpers make it smaller. The black rubber on the US version bumpers are so big they make the car look hefty. These nice chrome bumpers are sleek and proportional. Gives it a "proper" look. The headlights and tail lights all look bigger now also, and so do the wheels. I didn't even have to use flash in this photo, the chrome reflected a lot of light! I should take a shot of the reflection on the bumpers. It's amazing, I sometimes have to do a double take (being not familiar with the Euro bumpers, AND seeing double on the chrome)... The two things I'm not happy about is the rear bumper does not follow the curvature of the rear part of the car, as seen here: And the corners are still slightly pointing up... But for now I'm happy for what it is.

Sizzling hot! I'm getting euro lights for my 300SD, and I just saw some pics of w126 on euro bumpers and it doesn't look bad at all... hmm...
