Speedometer needle Wiggle 87TD

While the whole innards of my car are hanging out... before I took out the Cluster etc, my speedometer needle wiggles, it's not a huge wiggle but I'd dearly like it to be smooth like other cars... Is there anything I can do or should I just let it be?

I've not pulled the speedo in mine yet, is it electronic or cable driven?
if cable, you could pull the cable and lube it.
if, electronic, you could pull the cluster, and take the speedo apart and see if anything is sticky in there. the odo gears could be bad.

You may find that there is a tight bend in the cable some where. That will be where the cable is sticking and then springing when it releases. If you remove the inner, you may find that it needs replacing soon as the outer part of the cable inner fractures. I have just run thick gear oil into the cable from the top, it works for a while even with a failing cable.

Good Luck!
