Can you remove the vacuum pump and run the car?

Due to vacuum pump failure, I am wondering if I can remove the pump (take out the guts and put cover back) and drive the car a short distance, so it doesn't blow all the oil out of the motor in the process.

Anyone know or try this?

thanks!

Yes you can....

BUT you will have no power brakes of vacuum for proper shifting.

NOT recommended...Robert

You must remove the "guts' first or you'll dump allot of oil out the empty hole. Remove the little arm and bearing.

I guess so if you had too. . Like your car is in a war zone and you NEED to get it out.

but if you take it out. . .why not put a new one in??? and be done??
