Can you remove the vacuum pump and run the car?
Due to vacuum pump failure, I am wondering if I can remove the pump (take out the guts and put cover back) and drive the car a short distance, so it doesn't blow all the oil out of the motor in the process.
Anyone know or try this? thanks! |
Yes you can....
BUT you will have no power brakes of vacuum for proper shifting. NOT recommended...Robert |
You must remove the "guts' first or you'll dump allot of oil out the empty hole. Remove the little arm and bearing.

I guess so if you had too. . Like your car is in a war zone and you NEED to get it out.
but if you take it out. . .why not put a new one in??? and be done?? |
