Climate Control is dead

I have tried searching around on here but I can't find reference to the CCS just being dead. The fuses are all still there and it was working before. I was messing around with some vacuum lines a while back and wonder if I screwed something up. Can a vacuum issue cause the CCS to not respond at all? I can't get any air to come out on heat or AC. My wife says that one time she left it on and it started blowing after a drive, but I have not been able to replicate. I'm just trying to get some tips on what to troubleshoot first.

Start your car, turn on CCU and then wiggle your key left, right, left right slightly. If your fans come on it's your ignition contacts. This may not be the problem but good to eliminate this first.

That happened to me

I added too much refrigerant and the whole system shut down. The fans wouldn't even work. I let some refrigerant out and it worked again.

Yes, try the ignition switch test indicated above.

Albrecht,

Just so you know, it is a violation of Federal Law to release refrigerant into the atmosphere. I don't care if you do or not, but I just want you to be aware of this since you are posting such information on a public forum.

Maybe you misspoke. Did you really mean to say that you RECOVERED this refrigerant to alleviate the overfilled condition?

I tried wiggling the switch but nothing happened. It's possible that it could be the refrigerant issue. The guy I bought it from put some in trying to fix the AC. I still need to get the AC running but figure the system needs to be able to blow air to start working on the AC.
