Coupe vinyl trim delamination repair
Hi,
I should start this thread with pictures, but I dont have them. I will provide them ASAP. On my coupe, the panel that is the side/armrest for the rear seats, which goes up all the way to the rear quarter window, and the front seat seatbelt "bump" has delaminated the vinyl coating from the cardboard/pressboard underlayer along the section that is right up against the rear 1/4 window. Hope that is clear... Essentially, it looks like the vinyl has perhaps shrunk, and the glue has failed. Not a big deal besides the fact that looking from the side through the 1/4 window, you have a small chrome trim strip, then you see the underlayer cardboard, then you see the vinyl, which is in great shape. Has anyone tried to repair this? What is the best method? Perhaps could it be just that the chrome trim strip is not attached properly? Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks very much!
