Need sender versus sensor location. Who knows? Thanks!

Sender vs sensor? What's the diff? Anyways, the one for the guage is next to the glowplugs on the head.

My understanding is that there are two - found it, a sensor and a sender unless I am wrong here -pulled sender on head and cleaned, going to pull instrument panel now and reground to see if gauge acts normally again -thanks
