98 E300 Tranny shifter vibration noise.

At 1700 rpm's in drive I'm getting a strange noise. If I move the shifter left to 4th the noise is gone. Squirting the shifter slot with WD-40, no change. Any ideas?

Mine are green, and if your hands are bigger than a 3y/o's you'll need 12" needle nose pliers to help you out.

Do I get a kit or set from the dealer & do they install from the console or under the car?

They are in the trans/drive shaft tunnel; you'll see them on the drivers side of the trans after removing the trans belly pan.

Fastlane has them (our host, link above); as does every dealer.
