RV Towed 190d 2.2 ,Mileage question

Just picked up a 1984 2.2 5 spd 190d ,odometer still works with 330k on it.The owner was towing this car a considerable distance behind his RV and Im curious if the mileage would be reflective of this extra mileage. It was flat towed and was rigged with a tow bar.

If he did it properly with the driveshaft disconnected then it would not show up.

if he had the car in neutral and didn't disconnect the driveshaft, then the car would register the mileage.

It is reasonable to assume as additional transportation where he drove his rv to he was not underneath unhooking and hooking up the driveline each time . So milage is likely reflecting the non running periods as well.

I don't know if the 5 speed needs to be disconnected like the auto or not...I would be willing to bet it doesn't...in that case the miles would register since the 201 uses a speedo cable.

How long did he tow it?

Most of us who tow a car, travel 12,000miles/year or less with our motorcoaches (some exceptions). Many people much less, to/from a winter destination once a year. Either way, if it has 295,000 miles or 330,000 miles, not much difference.

Yes, the 5-speed can be towed, and it will register miles.
