Question 300SDL Oil from rubber hose in wheel well, where is it coming from?

I see oil from this hose. Inside the passenger's wheel well, just underneath the battery. Where is the oil coming from and what is the problem?

Any info is appreciated.

throw some baking soda and water on there to see if its from the battery.

it may just be coolant over flow

It is engine oil for sure. I think I know why if the hose is the drain from the battery compartment. The engine dip stick popped out the other days due to bad blow-by and splash oil all over the engine bay. Some oil may have been trapped there and drained off. Is it possible?

That hose connects up to the water drain in the wiper cowling. Remove the plastic grate and give a look in there.

Mystery solved. I had the hood up for a few days and the engine oil soaked on the hood pad drained down and dripped onto the windshield water drain. Nothing serious for now.

Thanks for all the inputs.
