1997 e300 cabin air blower fan not working
Hello- I tried searching for various "w210 cabin blower fan a/c" etc and did not find what I think I need. My friend is gone fishing for the summer (as his job) and his wife's car is not blowing cold air inside the cabin strongly- if at all. The a/c system was charged a bit back and that has cold air, but not it seems cold but with little to no air movement. Since they owned the car the cabin blower has been weak. They had the cabin air filter replaced which changed little. Please give me advice ... I know not of this modern chassis.

The regulator is shot. The crappy part is that 1997 was a model change year for the fan motor and regulator Most likely you will have to replace the motor, the cover, and regulator. If you are lucky and its the later model, you can just replace the regulator. Do a search here. There was a company that was making replacement parts, however they were recalled because they overheated. buymbparts can usually get a good deal Rusty is good to work with.

The brushes on the motor also fail. Take the under panel covers (2) off, fire it up, turn it on and if it doesnt come on reach unter the knee space and give the squirell cage cage fan a nudge or two clockwise and see if it fires up. If so its the brushes. Although a sealed motor, they can be replaced.
If it doesnt fire up its the regulator. Fstlane sells the W140 retrofit regulator that can be spliced in I believe. Call Phill, he knows all about it.
