Y'all are going on about 13 gallons of old crusty red fuel ... just use it to kill weeds or something, not your mercedes
If you're dead set on running it in the car, after filtering it, top off the tank with only a couple gallons every time you fill up. That might also hide the color. Just carry around a bottle of marvel mystery oil with you in the trunk as an "alibi", it doesn't take much of that to turn diesel red.

x3 on the bag filter. how old is the fuel? My fuel delivery guy said the older dyed diesel did not have ultraviolet dye only the color. He also said 1 gal. of old to 20 new would dilute it enough. I have 400 gal of dyed fuel coming ,15 years old.I will let you know how it goes

When I had my rental business, I ran all off-road equipment on #2 heating oil, with no issues at all. I added Stanadyne fuel conditioner and a biocide in the summer.
