'82 300 TD Air Intake Vent Removal?
Does anyone know how to remove the air intake vents on these old 123 chassis cars. Just to clarify, this is the plastic vent right between the hood and the windshield. Trying to take these off before I put the car in the shop to be painted.

That is a cowl rivet, part # 123 990 04 92, if you can carefully pry up the middle, you can reuse 'em.

Those little connectors you show in the bag, there are 4 that hold each vent.
use a small punch to knock out the centers, then remove each square part. they lift out. then the vent will come out. they have some little plastic prongs that fit under the sheet metal.gently wiggle them and it will lift out. after you remove the vents, you will see the center pins. they can be reinserted and reused. I usually always loose one of them. one might fall down in the drain and fall out the large rubber hose that on each side of the fire wall. there really isn`t anyway to pull the center pins up w/o driving them down for removal.
