602 Engine Oil Capacity

What is the TOTAL oil capcity of the 602 engine (i.e. not just the 7.5 quarts for an oil change, but that amount PLUS the amount that is still in the system)?

Thanks.

Really? Wow...I'm surprised only a half quart of oil remains in the system.

All I know is what's in the manual

According to the Factory Service Manual ("Service Manual / Diesel Engines 602, 603") dated 1991, Technical Data, section 00, page 020/3:

The OM602.911 non-turbo engine used in the 190 D 2.5 (W201.126) has no oil cooler; its oil capacity is 8.0 liters "initial filling" and 7.0 liters is used for an oil and filter change.

The OM602.961 turbo engine in the 190D 2.5 Turbo (W201.128) with oil cooler has an initial fill of 8.2 liters and 7.5 liters is used during an oil and filter change.

The OM602.962 turbo engine in the 300D 2.5 Turbo (W124.128) with oil cooler has an initial fill of 8.2 liters and 7.0 liters is used during an oil and filter change.

Ahhh - the oil cooler. I was in the habit of looking in the N/A column (my engine) and forgot about the oil cooler on the turbo engine. And you're right, its liters, not US quarts - Duh

Thanks Jeremy!
