Interestingly, my glow plug light works when the ambient temps is hot, but doesn't work when the ambient temps are low, but you can hear the relay energizing everytime, like clockwork. I've never really searched for an answer, because it works, but now I am curious. Thoughts????

The 116 light is controlled by a temp sensor in the block/head. Later models had a temp sensor in the relay itself. I'm betting that temp sensor in the engine is funky.

There are (2) next to each other; one is for the gauge and the other, I assume, is for the light....?????

I believe that is correct. I'm not sure if both sensors are of the same kind. I suspect not. Maybe it's even possible that someone put the wrong sender in the light circuit.
