5 Speed questions
I have a couple of questions regarding a 5 speed swap. The transmission that I am swapping in to my 87 190D is marked 124 260 07 01 717 411 00 391 485. Does this part # mean that it was originally intended for a 124 body. I realize that the 717 411 pretty much identifies the piece but was curious about the rest. It came out of an 86 190e. I also need the part # for clutch slave cylinder "shim" which broke upon removal. I don't have access to EPC being in the great white north and all (believe it or not they do check where your IP # is from if you try to register) heaven help us if Canadians had access to part #s for their cars. Anyway thanks Dan

My understanding is that the 124 in the part number means that the part [transmission] was first intended (when designed) for use in a 124. That would have been a 1985 gasser, sold at that time only in Europe.
