questions about my '86 190d

I have no owners manual. I just got this 190d and noticed a small toggle switch below the drivers door switch. Anyone know what this may be? It looks like it should be there but could have been added.

What does the small square button between the front and rear window switches on the drivers side do?

is the climate control mode box electric or Vac?

what is the most common cause of failure for the tach? Also, is the odometer repairable? Clock hands are missing, is there room inside to install new movement?

I can't find an online owners manual, can anyone guide me?

Thanks in advance

Because of copyright, sharing of digital manuals or links that lead to hosted intellectual property is a no-no. However, there is a fantastic MB supported web-based parts interface that contains breakdowns for virtually every part on your car. It requires a credit card, but will not charge you anything for American car info. http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/

A focused search on this forum will yield all kinds of information, including sources for purchase of the FSM disc.

Nice. I bought a disc for a very good price and it has been indispensable. Be sure to check the tech bulletins for changes in the FSM pages. I found that various torque values, processes, etc. have been changed via those tech pubs.
