Where Can I Get a Fuel Filter Assembly?
I'm working on my WVO conversion and I cant seem to find a decent fuel filter head. The one at greasecar looks ok but it doesn't look like it has any mounts or screwholes. Can someone please point me in the right direction or tell me how they did it in their W123? I should mention that I'm using coolant hose wrap around the filter as Dana suggests in his plans.

I'm not loooking for one to replace my regular diesel filter assembly. I need a second, aftermarket, stand alone one that can be installed somewhere in the engine compartment. This second fuel filter assembly will be used for WVO. I have found a few online but of the unheated ones I've found they don't have mounting brackets or screw holes.

I'm sure fleetguard and such make em. cat as well I believe.

I've got a 123 fuel filter housing if your interested. PM me if your interested. NAPA also sells a fuel filter housing, that I've used for VO conversions. I'm trying to find it on their website. Be right back
![]() --Can't find it on there website. But I know they have filter assemblies.

The 123's that I've helped out on the Greasecar installs had them mounted to the drivers side wheel well. Metal screws that hold on a clamp mount that surrounds the filter. Don't those come with the filter head and a different size filter? Then the copper tube that carries the antifreeze runs around the filter. I'm pretty sure that's how it was done. I was always the one who worked on the tank installation in the trunk, but it seems to me the solenoids and the filter were mounted just ahead of the firewall and fuse box on the fender wall.

Something like that. I'm just having a hard time finding one that comes with a decent mounting option. I was hoping someone else that has this conversion could tell me what they did.

On eBay they have various sizes of filter heads.
It is better to pick what filter you want and then look for a Filter Head with those thread sizes. Racor Filter Housings are expensive but they have interchangable Filter Elements in different Micron Ratings. VW Rabbits ( uses a filter with about twice the Volume of the Stock Mercedes filter at 10 Microns and Baldwin makes a filter with a drain at the bottom that will fit it that is somewhere between 2-5 Microns) and of course your Mercedes Filter Housings can be used. But, it is better to decied what Filter and Micron Level of filtration you want and then look for a housing.

I'm thinking five microns. I've read that 10 microns is ok for these cars but better safe than sorry. I was about to get a racor but I read that the racor filter heads have a tendancy to leak; anyone have that experience?

How about this? It looks simple, but it's designed for engine oil, does that matter?
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRM-1761/ Can I get any spin on filter for this that has 3/4" x 16 thread? Will this be ok with WVO?
