Put the '85 on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=599295601&r=0&t=0

I put an insanely low reserve just want it to goto a good home and get it out of here before the snow starts falling.

Thanks!

You're not insane. You're merely foolish.

turbodiesel:

I think I predicted a while ago that you would be selling the diesel once you get the CV.

Hey Turbo:

I'll be in the vicinity Saturday night. As I read your description the bid is set to expire sometime Sunday night I think.
Can you email me the following answers. Remember that I probably know what I'm getting into as I have two already.
1. How much oil does she use in 3k miles?
2. Have you check the timing chain for stretch?

thanks

Just a little comment

Hey diesel lovers,

I am pleased that a car with 471K still has value that can be expressed with money. I am afraid that my benz 84 300d 250K which I just put another $1300 into is not worth that much to the general population. Now all said and done, I am a diesel weirdo and am glad to see that there are other reasonable people like myself in this world who love diesel cars. This topic is interesting to me in that I wonder how much cars like this are worth in the open market and pleased to see that I may also get another 220K out of my benz.

Best of luck,

bob

PS Just a thought, Why not just give it to a young person in your family who needs a car. That is what I usually do with my dinosaurs. Sure being a good guy does not pay but what the hay.

Your car is just a baby at 250K.. it still worth a good deal of money, not until you get over 300K does the price seem to go down, IMO.

If I had a friend or family member that needed a car, I would give it to them, but I do not know of anyone, and I could use the cash right now.

Well, you had a successful auction. Congratulations and I hope it closes OK.

I have printed out a picture of your '87 300SDL and taped it to the floor in the back of the garage. Then I drew a pentagram around it and put a candle at each of the points. When I'm having troubles working on the other cars, I go back there, light the candles, sit on the floor and chant:

Turbodiesel - sell the 300SDL.
Turbodiesel - sell the 300SDL.
Turbodiesel - sell the 300SDL.

So far its not working but these things take time.........

What the heck do you want me to sell my 300SDL for?? So YOU can buy it??

Yes, the 85 300D is gone.. it is now a Manhattan car, and the current owner knows absolutely nothing about diesels.. I think the car will be lucky to see 480K
