Which Parts Should I Salvage for W123 Cruise Control?

An 85 300D came into work the other day; I work at a scrap yard. Before this thing gets crushed I'm trying to salvage some parts and my cruise control isn't working. I'm planning on taking the amp under the dash, and probably the actuator too. The actuator is the part connected to the throttle linkage over by the powersteering pump, right? Is there any other parts I may need for my cruise control? I should mention that this car only has 150k on it. What a shame.

AFAIK, that's all that's involved.
Yes, the actuator is the item you described.

Gotcha. I went out there early this morning and already worked up a good sweat and couldn't get the amp out. I need to go back out there later with an open end wrench. thanks!

Get more!

Geeze...I'd be looking to pull the climate control electronics too! (blower and CCU units behind glove box, push button control unit unit in cabin and KLIMA relay located in front of the fuse box under plastic cover...all too common for those items to fail and they're easy to get at....especially if the cars goin' to the crusher

how about the engine, transmission, seats, fuel tank, driveshafts, differential, lower control arms from the rear, front spindles, radiator, condenser, aux fan, battery tray, brake booster, mufflers, down pipe, and anything else that looks good on the car. ABS? steering wheel look good? radio antenna, sunroof motor, and cable.

There's also a little plug-in on the back of the speedo, but I don't think those go bad too often.

There's a guy in Cali who rebuilds these components. I'll refrain from linking to him to respect this forum's rules on external suppliers, but you can find his site if you google cruise control/mercedes/rebuild.

He has some test procedures on his website for the cruise control components, most importantly the tempomat (actuator), which can draw excessive current when it goes bad. Which fries the circuit board in the amp. So I'd be sure to test a junkyard actuiator before installing it in tandem with an amp that I know is good.
