Window regulator and guide rail lube question
What do you guys use to lube the window regulator and guide rails? I have just replaced one of the guide clips and am ready to put the door panel back on. It looks like graphite was the original lube. Would grease hold up better?
This is on a W124 btw. |
I used white lithium grease from a spray can on mine. Messy, but so far so good a few years later. Was it your right rear window, by chance? Those seem to be the first to go.

Why did you use white lithium grease vs another type of grease? |
I ended up using some chain and slide grease, but I'm not sure just how well it'll work in the long run, as I just did this on one of my windows this month.

Super Lube
I have not pulled my rears yet. But, eventually I wan to pull them and do the "plate mod." on the regulator. Then lube it all with Super Lube. |

Are you referring to your W123 TD or a W124? ( I have both). I am searching for more info to simply get the damn right rear door panel off to get the window working again ! Screws out, arm rest bolt out, ash try and light removed, trim around latch removed, lock knob removed, speaker removed, I cant get this damn panel to slide upward to save my life. |
Old post I know, but hoping someone has the answer. What is the part number for the plastic slide on a W124 rear window regulator? I think that 210 720 00 42 may be the part.

Yep, found this thread in another forum which describes how to use the 210 part in a 124 rear window, will also work for a 201.
