How do I remove overhead interior piece?

Going to the junkyard today, I have found some interior pieces that I want

There is a piece that is covered w/ mb tex under the sunvisors that is the width of the car, right in front of your head near the windsheild about 6-8 inches wide does anyone know how to remove this without wrecking it? Is it clipped in or does it have hidden screws some where?
Also how do you remove the rear view mirror?

On a 107 and 126 body: Remove the visors and the clips that hold them by the rear mirror. Pull the rear mirror and remove the bracket underneath it. Remove the dome light and unplug it. Pull the front pillar molding. There is an aluminum trim piece along the sun roof. Open the sun roof (can be done manually from the trunk) and remove the trim piece. All should be free now. . Gently work the roof piece free and you are done.

Others from this vintage should be similar :-).

got it out .. was not as bad as I thought
the mirror is just spring loaded, get a good grip and yank.. it comes right out .. 3 screws for bracket, remove sunvisors, has plastic clips that are attached, slide towards front of car
thanks for the reply

Glad it worked out! BTW- wait till you have to put the mirror back in, way worse than pulling it out :-)

To get the mirror back in i always put a little grease on the pins and then i just force it in, be carefull using a hammer you might break the glass.

BTW, which junkyard did you find the W123 at? How were the seats? I was at the northside yard a coupla weeks ago and no W123's to be found.

Sorry... the yard where I went to, was my mission today to get seats...I took everything I could get off this car, front seats, back seats, visor molding, and rear deck molding, nothing much left except door panels in blue...manual window cranks I mainly wanted the mb tex and springs .. could not figure out how to get the seat springs out...no manual hand lift for the passenger seat to slide it forward, no obvious rails in the rear to remove the screws, anyone know how to get the seat springs out? Without removing the seat?

Its ok if I break the mirror I got a spare now!! Also found a hirschman antenna!! The mast was all the way down and all the electrics were still attached. I hope it works! I am now a master at breaking trunk locks!

Get behind the seat, use a pair of vice grips to pull up on the lever, and push the seat forward with your feet so you can get to the screws.

Which yard was it?

I did not see the seat rails sitting in the back seat. the drivers side had the seat rails like mine. But the passenger side did not have the floor seat rails. It was a 1980 if that makes any difference I could not figure out how it was attached to the floor

Thats because the upper/lower adjustment was at its lowest point. Pull up on the side lever and slide the seat forward to reveal the 2 rear 10mm bolts. Year makes no difference, all W123's have the same seat rails.

Well i dont understand how there are no levers for adjusting the seat on the passenger side seat. Im sure the plastic handles are broken off, but are you sure that there is no lever.

No I dont need any bundts im leaving hubcaps on the 123 coupe. Thanks though.

Which yard was this?
