Not sure that Flo needs Euros

I got a deal on some Depo Euros from a member here. The set I got came with the clear corners. I like the amber corners much better. Not sure the euros really fit my car. What to y'all think?

Andrew,
Dont worry what they look like, what are they like for night driving!! If it results in you being safer then it wouldnt matter if they had been hit by the ugly stick.

PS i think they look much better !!

I've always had a soft spot for euros. Don't care to much for the clear corners though. I just wonder what bonehead in our government felt euros were unfit for us. We ended up using similar lighting on "American" cars anyway, it just took us 30 years to catch on ;-)

You can always keep the US look if you replace the sealed beams with H4 replacements (Bosch/Hella/Cibie/Autopal).

I think the Euros should stay. The other nice thing about the square Euros if seen in daylight is that the plastic surround inside the assembly gives it some "depth". I like the round Euros because it combines the look of the US DOT lights with the European styling, but there isn't much "depth" in the headlamp assemblies. Gives it the illusion that the lights are "flat" (for lack of a better term).

The Euros look fine on your car. Your paint looks more like a Euro option, so I think the Euros actually look better in your case. I agree with the others, ditch the clears. Get some dark amber Euro corners if you can find them.

I have "Euros" 'cos I live in Europe. I'm more of a fan of the round Euro option - and guess what this is what I've got.

H4 headlight bulbs:-

I've just bought a set of Philips H4 bulbs that are meant to be 40% brighter than standard bulbs (and use less energy or something like that - not that I'll notice much of a surge of power in my 300D).

If they work better I'll let you know!

I have Osram Hyper 70/65s with crappy TYC headlights in the 124. Darn powerful beam despite the cost in the US. Supposedly brighter but not whiter than the Philips VC, and I hear they guzzle amps. Wiring's fine and Daniel Stern says that's the limit of power original MB wires and connectors will handle. He also says they don't have a long life but they've lasted longer than any SilverStar or SilverStar Ultra I've bought in the US. I hear European SilverStars last longer than US counterparts.

Relevant content - I agree with H-town that Euros enhance the look of European colors. That pea soup green is definitely a European color. I almost got a 240D AT in that color way back when but I figured a Rabbit Diesel would cost less over my 100 mile per day commute.

How come you guys dont have decent globes in your lights? I have 150/100 watts in one car & 150/120 in the other. 70/65 would be like parking lights !! Its good to be able to see up the road when you are going at h/way speed.
