The factory manual and various forum members indicate the floor shifter should accommodate a wire harness for the back-up lights. I cannot find where to connect the wire harness. Please let me know what I'm missing.

Pictures of the floor shifter in question are attached. I pulled the part from a grey-market 1985 5-speed 240D.

Since I'm the only one awake, I'll guess it's a bayonet fit into that hoop beside the shift lever.
