Are crack free blue W123 dashboards really that hard to find?

Are crack free blue W123 dashboards really as hard to find as people are saying they are? I'm just wondering because I've got one that is in excellent condition and I am thinking of eBaying it. Even the seats that were in the car looked like they had never been sat in! It's from a car that had manual heat, so no climate control sniffer box on it.

I have one, ok not truly entirely crack free. There is a small split behind the instrument cluster

How's the driver's seat? I'm guessing it's all MBtex right?

The drivers seat looks brand new, no sagging at all. MB-Tex.

Ooo i'm tempted. Really tempted. My driver's seat has been through the misery of a 220 lbs man for most of its life.

A newer one would be interesting. Heck I could make an office chair out of the old one.

After three years I gave up trying to find a crack-free blue 123 dash. I bought a black one and painted it with SEM "Shadow Blue," a near-perfect match for the factory blue. Did the same thing for my 124.

Crack-free black 124 dashes are currently common in the junkyard here as 300Es start to come off of the road permanently. In a few years they will start getting rare, I imagine, as 123s are now.

An original crack-free blue 123 dash would be a valuable commodity, IMHO.

I have one on my 240. If anyone wants to trade me for a good black one I'm game. I can't stand the blue dash. I already covered with a black cover!

Dude, forget eBay, if your price is decent I'll buy it from you - and we live just a few miles apart. Let me know what you want for it...

I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of friends who might be interested in it. I'm glad you are local as I would love to not have to ship it! Also, W110 and W116 parts interest me, so a trade could work out.

Kind of true, and Jeremy is seldom wrong.

The only interior that has a black dash, is a black interior. Most are dark brown (from Palomino, cream-beige/mushroom, etc.), some are dark gray (from orion gray etc.) and look black until you put them in a black interior or mistakenly put a dark-brown one in a gray interior thinking it's black.

They are dark enough to look black until then. Same with 123s, 201s, et al.

Black is black unless it isn't?

Sixto has told me the same thing but I have to be a Doubting Thomas on which interior gets a black dash and which gets something else. My 124 dash came out of a 300E with a brown interior; I tried like heck to make myself see it as "really, really dark brown" instead of "black." I held it in the sun, which usually brings out any dim colors, but it still looked black. In any case, SEM paint sticks to it just fine so it's blue now. Maybe someday I'll have an opportunity to see a "true black" dash alongside a "dark brown" dash and be properly convinced. In the meantime . . .

I'll take it.... Can I have the 5 speed too?

Seriously though if you want to part with either of them let Bastian know then he can call me and we'll drive up and talk about pintos again.

My car needs another gear...

Edit: My number is (425) 765-1480 for future reference.

I bought the blue dashboard to resell, so it's available. I was wanting you and Sebastian to look at it first before I tried selling it.

Your car needs another gear? Then I suppose later you'll want a turbo engine. I've got one of those, too (with good compression numbers).

Mike,

I also have a W123 trunk triangle clip for each of you if you want them.
