clutch cylinders r&r

will shortly be removing and replacing my clutch master and slave cylinders. car in question is a 79 240d. have done the requisite search. one question remains. is there any suggestion on how best to handle the hydraulic line that runs from the resevour to the master cylinder? do not want to have resevour run dry. no not want fluid running all over the place. also, best place to order replacement parts? thank you.
