Turbo 617 oil separator return tube fix

my 82 SD started stinking on the road. nasty burned oil smell in the cabin. soooo I look around and there is oil dripping on the flex connector after the turbo... from the air filter... I pull the filter case out, and look at the baggies spun around the catch drain... how'd I miss that after all these years? anyway, I noticed the drain tube is just flopping around, and not secure at all. I dig into my box of o-rings, and find a set that fits change them out, then start tracking down why the tube isn't firm. the bolt holding it in place is worn nearly in two and so, I pull it out, and put in a new one. it can be done on the ground, no jack needed, and I did it by myself, but a helper would have been MUCH easier.

no more leaks on my car!

should I take pics?

when discussing problems with women or cars, pics are ALWAYS necessary.

Good work!
Isn't it a great feeling finding one of those stupid problems and being able to fix it, simply as well?
