Raleigh NC Area W123 Ball Joint Help

Hey Guys,
I just moved down south to Durham and need to the ball joints on my 84 300TD Turbo. I couldn't bring all my tools with me so I was wondering if someone has a shop with the right stuff to do the ball joints (a press, spring compressor, big hammers, etc). I'd pay for the space or bring some beers or whatever. Maybe do it on a weekend. No hurry. Thanks.

if you have jackstands, and a level concrete surface, you don't need a spring compressor. as the lower ball joints are in the spindle, not the control arm. I'm about 1.5 hours west of you and could give you a hand if no one closer is able.
if you only need uppers, they're a snap without even a jack! ok, not that easy, but close.

Yeah, it's just the ball joints. I actually did everything (including the ball joints) about 30K ago and the boots on the joints have been shot now for a few K. They make groaning sounds turning both ways. I used the URO BJs, this time I'm going to try the Lemforders.

Thanks for the offer. Let's see if anyone that's closer pipes up...

Especially being that even with the Lemforders twice as expensive, they are only $16 more each! Fast Lane has them at $32 with the Chepos at $16 and Moogs at $36!

All Parts Express has the Lemforders at $22 each!
