broken accelator pedal

Hello all,

Today the accellerator pedal broke in my '82 240D at the pivot/hinge on the floorboard. I had no time to investigate (work). I could drive it with out the pedal but that does not seem safe. Will look at it tomorow. Gosh I hope I can get the part(s) I will check with Phil. Just another notch in the Mercedes learning tree. When I get done with the 300CD i'll have a full orchard.

Thanks for help/advice in advance,

Bernie

It's not the pedal

I recieved a new accelerator pedal today from Phil (thanks and fast too). The problem is actually the floor board mount that rusted out at the bottom of the pedal. So half of the mount thing is in the bottom of the pedal and the rest is still in the floorboard. Is there a part number or is this a true E.I.Y. (engineer it yourself) job? Will try to attach photos soon.

Preparing for the possibility of "EARL" hitting is priority #1.

Thanks again,
Bernie

Check and make sure you don't have any rust on the floor panel. Pull up the carpet and check under that cruddy sound dampening material to make sure it's ok.
