Do you wave at other MB diesel drivers?

I've gotten two such greetings today. I just wave back.

I've noticed Corvette and Harley drivers do that too.

Funny, I was just noticing today that I felt like waving, driving the old 240D down the highway.

I'd say about 60% of the time I wave. but here in CA they are just another used car. most of the time people look at me like I'm a freak.

Its better then when I drive a TDI for a weekend. saw like 5 other TDIs I got the look of death from all of them when I waved.

but then again CA people are mean :/

yep just another used car people usually dont even look at you.

I was driving on the highway in the sd and I rolled alongside an ancient 1960's 200d being driven by some chick and I got a wave after i honked. But at that point she hadn't yet seen that my car was a diesel

Nope. In fact, I mind my own business when driving the MB. Occasionally there's an errant diesel head that may stalk you though.

When in my diesel coach, I started a regemin 7 years ago of flipping the other like-brand owner the bird, to reflect my displeasure in the coach company's owner/CEO's anti-owner customer service policies. Word has started getting around on the unknown bird-flipper out there in "our brand" of coach out on the road somewhere in America.

Here in south Texas most people wave regardless of what your driving.
On some rural roads I guess your just happy to see another person.

Driving the 240D in San Antonio usually gets me the 1 finger wave when merging onto the freeway or starting from a red light.

In the '83 300SD, I sometimes returned their one finger wave.

There was an elderly man who had a turbo 300D in front of mine. Pulled up next to him and he honked, so I waved and as I was about to honk back I remembered I had a louder horn. So I just tapped the horn pad twice in quick succession in acknowledgement.

Last Sunday I saw 4 cars in the same or similar color as mine. One was an old Datsun (510?) another was a VW (Golf/Rabbit of 80's vintage), another was the usual BMW 2002 at the local parish and an early gen 190E 2.3 also at the local parish.

When I was driving the 300TE last year, after a good wash, this beautiful W210 E320 estate passed by mine and the driver looked, smiled and waved. I waved and smiled back.

In 2008 when I was going to San Diego with some friends, we saw this beautiful 600 or 300SEL (w109) and we were also in the 300TE. He also looked and smiled (no wave) and we all waved back.

In our neighborhood I see 3 W124's on an almost regular basis. A Euro 280E is around here somewhere and there's a poor blue 300TE with faded paint. They don't ever look at me even if I always look at them.

I don't wave unless I get an acknowledgment from the other owner. Otherwise, I'll get a confused "do I know you?" type gaze from them.

There is a nice couple at my parish that I got to know a few years ago - because we both drove MBs. The parish pastor started driving a '98 E320 gasser W210 while he was pastoring and shortly before and after he retired. When he retired, he bought about a 4-door '78 or so S Class 280E. He told me he liked the older Benzes better, and the W210 just wasn't getting the vintage job done for him. Ha! Neat guy. He claimed that he couldn't find a pre-owned diesel-W210, like mine, so that's how he ended up with an E320.

Sometimes. I like waving if it is reciprocated.

Where I grew up everybody waved regardless of type of vehicle. There are places where folks still do.
