W116 instrument cluster wiring harness pinout

As I was replacing the oil pressure/fuel/temp gauge on my 79 300sd, the plastic part of the wiring harness came apart as I was unplugging it from the back of the cluster. There are numbers on the inside of the one plastic part, but I don't know which color wire corresponds to which number. I looked at a wiring diagram but it's of no help for this.

Can someone help on this one? Thanks!

Having this information would go a long way in helping me repair a couple of shorts in my '80 model 116 300SD. I do wish someone would post this valuable information. Thanks.

I got some help on the w116.org forum, but what was posted wasn't correct for a 300sd.

After 2 days of trying what I thought was every possible combination, I had to bite the bullet and take it in to my local MB garage. Even they had to do the research on the order of the wires. What seemed like a fairly easy fix turned out to be a rather costly endeavor.
