What does this go to?

This is one of the last things i need to complete my engine and motor transplant. What is it and where does it go? I looked long enough on my own then gave up.

The picture is of front right (driver) of car in the engine bay where the washer fluid is. Is wired in with several other wires that follow the wheel well.

Btw- I don't need the crank sensor down by the balancer right?

That's the connection to the AC compressor.

^ Agreed.

Depends on the year, but it looks like you have a late version tach pick up, so what you see there, is just a diagnostic port.

Thats the power to the AC compressor. Looks just like the one my wagon had.

great, i thought that was would it could, since the compressor isn't hooked up but i looked all over it and couldn't find where the hook up is.

must not have been thorough enough.

thanks

Is that the clutch magnet connection, or the RPM sensor connection?

The connection is at about 5 oclock looking at the compressor from the front, just behind the pulley.

it's possible your compressor had the connectors ripped off in a bad belt flip though.

toomany MBZ 09-21-2010 08:11 AM

^ Mine did, and looks just as bent and now won't stay plugged in.

compu... to find the magnetic pick up, the OP needs to follow that gray wire down from the diagnostic port, that round thing, second pic, right center.
