Purchasing parts need someone to double check

Hi. 1984 300td turbo. I'm purchasing parts. Not sure what the differences are between the more expensive ones than the cheaper ones. Is it a generic/brand name thing? I attached a picture of my shopping cart.

Also, I need to change my upper control arms. What exactly do I need to buy? I want to do both control arms. I seeing fr. control bushings, mounts, and kits... Not sure what I need. Do I need tie rods too?

Here is the list of things the expensive mechanic said I needed. Disregard the oil filter, stand, and air filter.

I'd like to eventually do my own valve adjustments, check compression, check injectors, etc... What types of tools do I need to buy for that?

I apologize for all the newbie questions!

See above post.

Yowsa!!!

I only looked up one part on your list, the transmission mount. It is listed at $214. This part purchased from All Parts Express on this site is under $19.

See post #2 and follow Roy's advise.

If you put your location in your header, you might stumble onto some local help.
