Electric antenna wiring, 300TD

I found a used antenna from an 85 300TD, thinking that it would be the same as my 80 300TD but of course it is not an exact match...

I have a blue and brown wire going to the old antenna, the new antenna has brown, blue yellow and 2 black wires.

Could anyone tell me what do these wires power?

Here is what the new antenna plug looks like.

Thank you

The pin positions are different on the early cars. You can always change the pin positions on the plug to make it work. Does your car have an antenna button on the dash?

Thanks for the reply.

No I don't have a switch on the dash. The original antenna did not have a plug with pin either. I got a female 6 pins to match the antenna plug.

I guess that the 2 black wires are for ground.... Yellow?

Ground is always ground on German cars. The rest is easy, find the hot wire on your car and pick the pin that will make it work. One of your wires on the car will be hot all the time so as to provide power to the antenna to go down when you turn the radio off.
