remove ac compressor 82 300cd?
Hi, I am wondering if I can permanently remove the ac compressor and other components from my 300cd? Will this affect any other systems? I never use ac and want to get rid of the dead weight, etc..
any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks Tomas |

If it's functioning, you'll lose the ability to cool the cabin and quickly defog the windshield. If it's not functioning, you'll lose nothing but weight, as you say. You can remove the compressor, condenser (ahead of the radiator) and drier (not sure where it is in a 123). Other components are probably not worth the effort to remove.
Someone more familiar can tell you what belt/s you need. Hopefully the vacuum pump isn't in the way of the stretch between the crank and power steering pulleys. Sixto 87 300D |

If you don't want it, then take it off. It runs off it's own belt, so no worry there. No, it does not effect the heater, however conditioned air defogs the windscreen better and faster so you may experience some fogging.

yeah, you can safely remove everything, but the compressor mount holds the oil cooler lines from vibrating. I'd not remove that.
