Opinion: 1992 300D or 1983 300 Wagon?
Looking for opinions on a couple of cars I'm looking at am going to convert to WVO w/ heated tank and all the fixins...
1) 1992 300D w/ 187K miles. $1400 Fair condition, but overall sound. Leaky injector pump around one of the exit lines -> thinking o-ring fix since it runs fine. Locally owned. 2) 1983 300 Wagon (no turbo) w/ 175K miles. $2000 Good condition, and has greasecar tank already plumbed. 3-4 hour drive from where I live. I and wife kinda sorta like sedan, but am open as well to other sides of argument. Thanks. Dubbel |

Wagons get a bit too greasy inside. You cant just hose them down like a sedan trunk.

I would jump on the 1992 300D and burn regular diesel.

92 for $1400 sounds like a deal.

Good deal, but...
Yeah, it's a good deal.
Any suggestions of things to look for that could be deal breakers? |

At that price, if it has heat and drives, it's a good deal.

Only came "close" to doing that once with my VW rabbit diesel. The station had put GREEN nozzles on their 87 grade. I pulled in thinking it had diesel on the end, then 87 and then 93. WRONG
Even had the nozzle in my hand and luckily an angel changed my mind somehow (must have been divine intervention b/c I'm normally pretty stubborn). Thanks for everybody's opinions. Cheers |
