Running shy of 100 °C ambient temp is 55°F

Just got my car back from the indie, he replaced the thermostat and the radiator. In traffic on the way home, I saw temps just short of 100&degC. The temp would drop maybe 5 degrees or so if I hit the heat or defrost. This is about what I was seeing before I brought it in.

So I guess I have two questions: 1) Given the cooler weather, this seems at least borderline too hot, yes? 2) If it is too hot, what else would help? They mentioned doing the water pump as well, though it isn't leaking or making noise.

Thanks!

Chuck
