Rotella 5w40 is only $19 at walmart for a gallon. :D

Craig 10-18-2010 10:54 AM

Cool, that's about the cheapest I've seen it.

vstech 10-18-2010 10:58 AM

I'm gonna stock up!
I've got an account there, and should even get a discount!

babymog 10-18-2010 11:07 AM

Funny when I schedule an oil change just because TD&T is under $20/gallon.

4thesporty 10-18-2010 01:09 PM

The thing is, I only noticed it as I went there to dump my oil from a change last night.

Got a few gallons for the next couple of times.

babymog 10-18-2010 01:16 PM

I'll be picking some up tonight, checking the mileage on all of the cars at home to see what is close enough to justify a change.

pawoSD 10-18-2010 03:34 PM

Not to start an oil thread... :D But I swear that Mobil 1 TD&T makes a 617 run louder and "clack" more at idle. They sound much more smooth and trucklike on Rotella. May be a different scenario with the 60x series.

I'm going to say that either is probably fine, I've put almost 100k on my engine with the rotella synthetic, and the compression levels and chain stretch have gone virtually unchanged in those 100k......so I think its working pretty well!

vstech 10-18-2010 08:27 PM

my store close to me only had 4 gallons... they are ordering more.
I'll check other cities local to me and get what I can.
it's nice that orileys also have wix filters!

Dieselkraut23 10-19-2010 12:55 AM

Delo 400 goes on sale At O'really cheaps alot .. 9-10 bux a gallon normally.

Last week though Delo was $8.50 a gallon Wally world and once it was $7.00 a gallon a couple months ago with O"really cheaps. Love those weekly manger specials!

pawoSD 10-19-2010 07:41 AM

The wix filters have very poor filtration. You're much better off with the baldwin filters, they have the best filtration levels available.

vstech 10-19-2010 08:09 AM

I thought the only filter with poor filtration from wix was for the 61x engine?
the filter for the 603 has the bypass section.
