Slipping flaring 300d

My 1980 300d trans pulls up ramps, reverse is fine, but flares and slips when it gets to the point of shifting the first time . Fluid has been changed with filter vacuum switches are good mod has been ajusted up and down with no change. Kickdown seems ok car will not shift manually either I hear there is a final drive band ajustment but I cant find where it is any Ideas? also car sat for around 4 years prior to me buying it the previous owner said it got worse and worse as time went on . I had some metal in the fluid but nothing real bad . Thanks for any help at all

any metal is bad.

call roy (click the buy parts link above his # is there) and ask if the B2 piston fix applies to this trans.

I had quite a bit of metal and fiber in the pan of my 82SD, and the B2 piston cured all the forward shifting issues I had.
