85 300d splash guard

Anyone know where I can find a left inner front fender splash guard for my 85 300d w123? Getting a lot of rust in there and I want to cover it before they salt the roads.

OK, this is an interesting question for me. I have a 1985 300D KaliKar. I am slowly refurbishing it to use as a daily driver.

Are there supposed to be plastic wheel well "liners" for the front wheel wells like newer cars have? Both of mine are just bare metal, with one small plastic sort of triangular snap-in piece.

Would make sense if they had something to control the splash, but I can't tell if there used to be one or not.

I got mine from the dealer - they turned out to be cheaper than my usual MB parts guru...

I paid about 9 euros a side - but the rubber edging cost quite a bit more!

The 85 300D came with the full length splash shields, with the rubber peice along the full edge behind the fender lip.

Some one must have removed them at some time. they are held in with about 8 small, 8mm head screws.

Be pricy from the dealer, the JY is your best source.

The older W123 like my 80 240D, came with a short shield at the rear of the fender. this is probably why the older W123 have the glued on fenders.

That little tube thing on the shield. cut out the bottom of it so it drains w/o collecting debris.

when I pulled out my shield ( it`s a full one) it was packed with stuff.
that area behind it is prone to rust. MB really didn`t seal off that area very well. I have seen a few cars where the wall was rusting where the sheet metal is welded together.. and even the end of the rocker rusting.

My 85 was doing this. so I pulled the fender and cleaned it up.
