I take it OM604 was a DOHC version of the OM601.

First impulse when I looked at those was that the OM604, 605, and 606 are 4, 5, and 6 cylinder versions of the engine found in our American 96-99 E300D which came out in (95?). Our 606 was available in other countries as a 4 and 5 cyl as well. Possibly?

604 : 2,2-liter NA 4-cylinder, 95 hp. Sold in W210 and W202
605 : NA or Turbo. 113 or 150 hp. 5-cylinder 2,5 liters. NA sold in w124 and W202. Turbo sold only in W202. Maybe also in some W210 on special markets.
606 : NA or Turbo. 136 or 177 hp. NA sold in W124 and W210. Turbo sold in W210, W140 and W463. Maybe more models.

Or a 4-cylinder version of the OM606NA. With only 95 ponies, the W210/OM604 must have been a real slug. Wonder what the fuel economy was?

More or less the same engine as 605 and 606.

0-100 kph : 17,4 secconds with automatic transmission.

consumption is 49 MPG at 56 mph, 39 at 75 MPH and 29,4 in the city

Top speed : 110 mph
