What's Best Way to Crimp Hose While It's Disconnected?
Very basic tool question: what's the ideal tool to use to crimp a disconnected hose so that fluid doesn't flow out and so that both my hands can be kept free? I see a set of crimping pliers at Harbor Freight, but somehow that doesn't seem ideal. Seems like there must be something consisting of two parallel flat surfaces that can be tightened on the hose.
What do I need to get? Thanks.

Sometimes channel locks with rubber hose forced over the ends so as not to destroy the hose. More often, bolt stuck into the end. Brake hoses, I save the caps that come in parts to protect threads. They can keep the MC from leaking completely out.

I have the crimping pliars that someone gave me. Prior to that, a set of vice grips, typically needle nose, have worked well. I wouldn't use either on a brake hose.

They make actual hose clamping tools that compress the hose. They are small, too. I think the auto parts stores carry them in their tool section.
