Shop Manual? Best?

I'm going to head out today and find a shop manual hopefully. Is there a good one I should be looking for? With my Rovers I have the RAVE which is nice cause someone took the time to make it a downloadable PDF... With most other things I use Haynes Manuals. Unfortunately, they only seem to have one for the 76-85 version of the 300D.

Is there a downloadable version or ?

Yes, I have been searching the forums but can't seem to find the info... I'm not the best searcher...

I'm kind of guess there is not one cause there doesn't seem to be a sticky about it, and I would think everyone would need it.

Ah ha a W124 then.

Performing the following search on Google comes up with some interesting hits!

The OE manuals on CD are nice, although I haven't gotten mine to work from Windows 7 64-bit w/ IE 8, ... might be something simple.

The OE paper manuals are nice also, but I've gotten in the habit of searching the CD and printing a page, quick and no issues with the manual being damaged.

My second choice would be the Haynes, a very good manual (surprisingly) with lots of the right numbers (torques, tolerances, etc.).

Anything is better IMO than the Bently "Owner's Bible", which I've found to be little more than interesting reading, ... with errors.

I've got a CD copy. Its a little inconvenient while actually wrenching, so I typed up and printed chapter indexes (indices?), and filed them in a binder. Now, when I want a section, I check there first - if I don't already have it, I print it and put it in the book. Eventually maybe I'll have a complete hard copy.

Unless you're planning a complete restoration I hope you don't - I find owning a car is much more satisfying when it doesn't go wrong!

My Computer died on me and I had to buy a new one a few months ago. It also has Windows 7; 64 bit and my CD Service Manual Set did not work and none of the older prgrams needed to run it will load on to the Computer.
When I installed the new Modem on the computer it had Adobe Reader 8 on it. So that took care of the PDF reading.
I went to the adobe www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ They have an experimental Flash Player that you can download. The pic on the far right is the message you get when you go to the Flashplayer support.

Ounce you have those on your computer stick you CD in and chose RunshelExec.exe when it comes up as in the Pic on the left. Click on runshelExec.exe.
I also had a messager: are you connected to the Internet? come up but ignored that and it went away.

The CD program will stat to open but you will get another message;
as in the Pic in the middle, I clicked YES.

After doing the above everthing on the Service Manual CD works with the exception of the little Video clip.

Thanks. I was thinking I'd be okay with downloading/installing the compatibility updates for explorer, this looks like the correct solution.

The CD Service Manual working turned out to be a byproduct.
Even though I am not employed as one I have a Respiratory Therapy license that I am required to get continuing educational units if I want to keep.
With no Flash Player I could not access the free classes that some companies offer.
Motivation; it was try the experimental Flash Player or pay for my cintinuing educational units.
