Strengthening exhaust mount ideas: E300DT
My exhaust system seems to have a lot of movement at the tailpipe. I should not that I just added a 3" straight pipe exhaust with a Brabus muffler so it's not the stock system. The new exhaust system has been attached at all of the old stock points. It moves left-to-right and right-to-left when going over bumps, turning, etc. I believe it sometimes moves enough to where it will hit the heat shield.
Has anyone else run into this problem? I want to figure out a way to strengthen the exhaust mounts so this doesn't happen anymore. Let me know what you think: -Replace the current rubber exhaust mounts. I believe they are original. -Add more mount points towards the muffler area. Thoughts on where I could do this? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks,

If any of them are plain donuts, you can get stiffer ones, or the chain-reinforeced style, which are quite stiff.

Thanks. Is there a specific place I need to source the stiffer ones from? Or are rubber exhaust hangers pretty universal?
